Nassau, Bahamas

We went to Nassau in February 2000 and stayed at Sandals Royal Bahamian, an all inclusive resort. This is one of the more expensive Sandals resorts. It had a different kind of crowd than Sandals Montego Bay. Montego Bay was a younger crowd with alot of honeymooners. Royal Bahamian was older and when we were there, most of the guests were with large groups of people. There wasn't as much emphasis on the games and silly activities the "Playmakers" organize, but when we were in Montego Bay, it rained most of the time so that may be a reason they did more there.

Tiny plane

This was our plane from Miami to Nassau. Tiny huh? We originally were supposed to fly through North Carolina instead of Miami but there were snow and ice storms all over the U.S. so we had to change our plans. Why do we always have so much trouble with the weather on our vacations??

A sampling of Sandals architecture. Alot of it was Roman-like.

Sandals arch

Sandals arch over one of the pools. This pool also had waterfalls in it.

This is the beach. Not nearly as big as the Sandals in Montego Bay.

The beach

More beach.

In this photo you can see some of the water activites you can do (all included in the resort package)...sailing, kyack, aquacycle...

Bar by the beach

This is the bar and entertainment building located right by the beach. Good source of the Strawberry Daquiris that I always drink in the islands.

This is the building were our room was. Once again, our room was upgraded from what we actually paid for...this time was an even bigger upgrade. We had a bar and robes and a huge bathtub and everything in our room.

This is the other building with rooms in it.
